School Library
The Library plays an important role in the life of the school by offering a resource to support learning and promote reading.
Pupils will use the library during class time for independent research and study as well as developing their personal reading through a variety of activities.
The Library and other members of staff have been working on Building A Reading Culture (BARC) throughout the school over recent years by embedding reading activities and responses into the school calendar. This includes the S1/S2 reading programme, Drop Everything And Read initiatives, book recommendation videos, book projects, staff role-modelling, and celebrating important literary calendar events such as Book Week Scotland, World Book Day, National Storytelling Day and many more. Currently we are working towards our Reading Schools accreditation which recognises the efforts we are making as a whole school to encourage and establish good reading habits.
